Great Foods to Help You Stay Healthy
I wish I could just workout once a week and be in the best shape of my life, I bet you feel the same way right? Well unfortunately this is not very easily achievable. To get in the greatest shape ever you do need to exercise and have a balanced nutrition.
It is unbelievable how important eating healthy is to achieving your goals. There had been many times where I would cheat once or twice a week and would seriously pay for it. Either I would pant a little more than usual or see a bit more fat bunched up in my gut. Now that isn’t a good site, I will tell you that one!
Let me tell you some amazing foods that can help you blast that fat away. The idea is to eat frequently (5 – 6 times a day) in order to digest and process the goods and get stronger. Eat foods that fill you up faster without eating a whole tub of food. By doing this you will want to lose a healthy amount of weight each week.
- Grapefruit – They are powerful fat fighters due to their high fiber content. Sugar free, grapefruit drink has fewer calories than an orange of the same weight. They contain soluble fiber which in citrus fruits, lower cholesterol.
- Chilies - Capsaicin which is the compound found in chilies, does increase your metabolism slightly, increasing the energy your body burns during digestion. But don’t make it so hot that you will have to wash it down with loads of water. These little hot treats can help you get the body you want.
- Black Beans – Beans such as black beans and lentils are low in fat and rich in soluble fiber. They digest slowly and maintain the glucose levels in the blood steady. I personally love beans and all legumes alike so having a plate of beans a day isn’t a problem.
- Apples - Eating a couple apples every day is a pretty good idea as long as you don’t eat like 40. Fruits like apples and pears take time to chew and fill you up as compared to one small glass juice which contains the equivalent calories of two apples. The thing to watch out for is the sugar. Fruits have tons of sugar so don’t over do it.
- Celery – You burn calories chewing and digesting the stick. Celery has vitamins E and C. It is should be featured on everyone’s plate. I personally prefer broccoli, but if you like celery go right with it.
- Strawberries – While all fruits are packed with vitamins, some are more nutritious than others. Strawberries, peaches, plums and grapes are cancer fighting and are packed with appetite suppressing fiber. But water-melon, pineapple and papaya cause you to have a high glucose (sugar) level.
- Mackerel – It’s not the omega-3 in fish like mackerel and sardines that sounds the alarm for fat limit in your brain but rather the protein mixed with the fat. The mistake many dieters make is to cut out fat completely. Fat is what makes you feel full. This is a good choice if you are into fish.
- Cottage Cheese – Cottage cheese is a very good source of protein. These white curds are also stuffed with calcium, vitamin B-12 and some zinc and folate. Riboflavin found in cottage cheese guards against cancer.
- Low-Fat Milk – Calcium rich foods do seem to boost your metabolism. People who drink milk and eat dairy products regularly have lower weight and less body fat than those who don’t. If you can tolerate the dairy then indulge in the LOW fat milk.
- Lettuce – Foods such as lettuce are bulky foods containing mostly fiber and water. They occupy a lot of space in your stomach, leaving little room for other foods. They contain also a lot of iron, folate, calcium and vitamin A, B, C and E.
